2655 kmOn 31st October, I received a call from Ducati Spain, informing me that I had been selected to participate in the Multistrada 60,000 km European Tour Project. A dream was coming true: I would represent my country in the first stage, from Barcelona to Murcia. This trip meant a lot to me.
DAY 1. On 11 November, my adventure began: I left from Barcelona and I was excited. I made my first stop at the Sagrada Familia, the most visited monument in Spain. Time was pressing and I headed to Aragon to follow the famous Ruta del Silencio. It was night, and it was cold. Around me, the stillness of nothingness .
DAY 2.- The following day, I travelled along the Ruta del Cid through Teruel and headed towards Castilla-La Mancha, where I visited the windmills of Campo de Criptana. I felt like a modern Don Quixote. Every kilometre on the Ducati Multistrada V4 Rally has reaffirmed my passion for motorcycles.
DAY 3. I entered Andalusia through the Sierra de Cazorla, hoping to find a warmer and milder climate, however, I found myself in torrential rains and strong wind, especially in the desert of Tabernas and Cabo de Gata. Despite everything, I enjoyed magical moments, like watching the sunrise on the Monzón beach in complete solitude.
DAY 4. With the threat of DANA, along side roads, I arrive in Malaga. From here, across the border to Gibraltar and to reach Tarifa. DAY 5. November 15 was the last day of the adventure. After reaching the southernmost point of Europe, between the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, through the interior of Cadiz with its white villages, to get to Ronda. In the centre of Andalusia, in Cabra, I head for Granada. Here stands the fortress of the Alhambra and stretches the desert of Gorafe. I had come to the end of this adventure. As I head to Murcia to return the Ducati Multistrada V4 Rally, I reflected on everything I have experienced. This trip was not only a 2.655 km route, it was a personal rebirth, a reminder that dreams come true and that the freedom that gives you to travel by motorcycle is incomparable. I want to thank Ducati for allowing me to write my story on the street. Now, I invite other riders to continue their adventures with the Multistrada 60,000 km European Tour.
Thinking back to the best moments of the Multistrada 60.000 km European Tour, I must mention all the people I met. People I knew little, but who, in those moments, were the most important.
I think of all those places where I was in the absolute and overwhelming loneliness, as if I were literally on another planet. In those moments, I was afraid, but it also gave me an incredible peace the emotion of being the only one there. I could listen to myself and reflect in my helmet, which is the best therapy for me. There are many places I would have liked to visit and the streets I would have wanted to travel, but where some would see clear defeats for not having achieved what they wanted, I see the opportunity to return to visit them.
I think of all the sunsets and the dawns of this journey, some beautiful, others ruined by clouds. On the Ducati Multistrada V4 Rally I felt like a true nomad, with an indescribable feeling of freedom. In these days, I felt again that desire to pack and leave, with that anxiety of not knowing what will happen.
Step out of your comfort bubble to discover yourself and the world: you will not be the same. This adventure that Ducati brought me on was the opportunity to find myself again, and I was able to overcome the challenges that this journey has placed on me.
I wish all those memories were not lost like tears in the rain, that I could live and share with ducatists new experiences on board a Ducati Multistrada V4 Rally. I’m sure I’ll be riding another one soon.
