2150 km… or not so short… it is impossible to be when you are passionate about something…
Monday, the alarm clock rings, today is not an ordinary day.
Despite the hundreds of thousands of miles traveled on my Multistrada 950S, I still have butterflies in my stomach every time I start a new journey, and this is very special. Ducati chose me to be one of the riders of the project Multistrada 60.000 km European Tour.
This week, I will have in my hand the bike we admired this summer at the World Ducati Week. The perfect bike to travel around the world.
With everything prepared, I arrive at the Ducati Murcia dealer where his whole team welcomes me with great kindness.
After a brief explanation, I hand over the keys, press the start button and begin the adventure.
We leave Murcia and head to the Ricote Valley, an oasis in Murcia. Along the wide curves, the Multistrada shows its power, transmitting decision and security.
After a visit to the viewpoint of the valley, we continue our journey on the N-301, the kilometers pass quickly.
After having tasted the delicacies of the place, we went to my hometown, Albacete, where my father is waiting for us with his Ducati 250 Elite. Together with him, we walk the emblematic places of the city. At each stop, people come to admire the spectacular Multistrada V4 Rally.
To end the day we will go to Chinchilla de Montearagón, one of the most beautiful villages in Spain, with an impressive main square.
Day 2
We leave the city behind and walk along the plain of Manca and quickly arrive at Peñas de san Pedro and here begins the fun. We head to Manchega, Switzerland, the small village of Ayna. Here, we switch to Sport mode and the bike becomes even more powerful.
We stop at the viewpoint of this town to admire its breathtaking landscape.
We continue along the Mundo river, it is a winding road and the Ducati Multistrada V4 Rally behaves like a sporty, precise and powerful, at no time you notice that it is a bike of more than 250 kilos.
Without realizing, we arrive in Elche de la Sierra and head towards the CM-3228 that takes us to the Segura mountain range.
Along a more boneless country road, we set the mode Touring.
We reach a small port in the belvedere of Cenajo, hoping that the curves are not finished.
We are still in the middle of the morning and head towards the coast. On the highway, comfort is maximum. Cruise speed control and rear radar is accurate and helps us to go relaxed.
We tackle the wide curves with power and precision, it is a pleasure to open the gas and notice the endless power that has the V4 engine.
We arrive at Cabo de Palos and enjoy the port, its coves and lighthouse.
The view is breathtaking.
After having rested, we continue on a small road between the old mines of the area and then through the oil refineries until we cross the tunnels and reach Cala Cortina a few kilometers from Cartagena. Here we visit its Naval Museum, the town hall and the old town.
Then, we drive to Cartagena the ancient road of Mazarrón. The road takes us up to the coast again until we reach La Azohia and Mazarrón.
We continue for a few kilometers along the shore of the sea.
It is night and we decided to continue the last kilometers on the highway. LED headlights are impressive and illuminate our path as if it were day.
We arrive in Almeria, where we spend the night.
Day 3
We start by walking along the coast to one of the most mystical places in Almeria. The comfort of the Multistrada V4 Rally is maximum. In a few minutes, we reach Cabo de Gata. It’s Wednesday, there is little traffic and the Ducati runs along the infinite straight with the sea on the right and the salt flats on the left. I drive relaxed enjoying the moment.
Finishing the straight, and we start to climb, the Multistrada draws all the power already from low turns.
Taking a left turn appears in the background Faro Cabo de Gata right next to the reef of sirens. One of my favorite places to let your imagination fly.
After admiring this natural wonder, we visit the Madraba de Monteleva and its iconic church. Without wasting any more time we head towards Cherín, through a wide and well-paved road, wide curves, unmatched views where we can enjoy all its power, stability, sportiness and precision. A world of sensations.
Shortly after, a mountain road appears. The bike changes direction with precision, the strokes are perfect. The endless bends make us smile. Adrenaline and happiness flow through our veins. We continue to climb and stop at several panoramic points where we can appreciate the infinity of valleys and the immensity of the mountain.
We are almost one thousand five hundred meters high and thus we arrive at the highest village in Spain, Trevelez.
It is twelve o’clock in the afternoon and we make a short stop to visit the charming streets.
We are back on the road towards Lanjarón. The Multistrada V4 Rally surprises us with its power and great torque.
The turns and fun have no end, we cross the beautiful villages of Pampineira and Soportujar known as the village of witches. The Multistrada gives us all the sportiness curve after curve and without noticing we arrive at Lanjarón. After lunch, back to Granada. On any road the softness and comfort of the Multistrada V4 Rally is impressive.
Early in the morning, we start the climb to Sierra Nevada. The road is wide with fast curves. The asphalt is perfect. By activating the Sport mode of our V4 Rally we open the gas, the adrenaline flows in our veins. The view was amazing along the way: snow-covered views of the peaks, breathtaking valleys and even wild horses crossing the road. So we arrived at Hoyo de la Mora, the highest point.
After enjoying the sunset, we start the descent, enjoying the view of the Alhambra illuminated by the belvedere of San Nicolas before arriving at the hotel.
Day 4
Another bright day.
While we were filling up, the bike immediately jumped out and curious people asked us about the bike. We explain the Multiestrada European Tour project to them and they congratulate us.
We set off and arrive at the imposing Fortress of Mota in Alcalá la Real and then to the Ducal Castle of Espejo as a preamble to the spectacular Cordoba, where we arrive directly next to the famous Mosque and its Roman bridge.
We continue towards Malaga.
We head towards one of the most beautiful motorbike roads in the province of Malaga, in the direction of Yunquera, entering the Sierra de Ronda. The Multistrada V4 Rally is driving smoothly through the many curves: it’s a pleasure to open gas and enjoy the unlimited power of the Multistrada that catapults us to the next curve.
Before arriving at our destination, we enjoy the sunset in one of the most beautiful villages in this region, Setenil de las Bodegas. We take a few minutes to visit the village with its wonderful streets. After that we reached Ronda.
Day 5
The adventure is coming to an end. We descend to the viewpoint of the Hoya del Tajo and here we can test the Multistrada V4 Rally in off-road, as the recent rains have broken several nearby roads.
We head on an unknown road with the aim of getting first to Algeciras and then to the panoramic point of the strait.
This point is impressive and the Multistrada V4 Rally is majestic with Africa in the background. An image that will stay forever. We continue to turn through the wide curves that lead us to the island of Tarifa. The daylight and the landscape transport us in summer to November.
The adventure was coming to an end. We leave Tarifa to return the bike.
We have lived a wonderful adventure: the Multistrada V4 Rally, the perfect bike to travel around the world.
We reach the Ducati Sevilla dealer. This will be one of the experiences I’ll remember for life.
Hello Multistrada V4 Rally
I never imagined that this bike would surprise me so much. You get used to it quickly. It is a pleasure to feel all its power and at the same time makes everything easy for you. Even at very high regimes I have never felt myself losing control.
I thought my Multistrada 950S was the ideal vehicle for going to the end of the world, but the V4 Rally is perfect: comfort, electronics, innovation and power.
I would like to thank Ducati and in particular Paula from Ducati Spain, for having selected me and becoming one of the lucky riders of this adventure. She was impeccable and always helpful. In the future, I hope to have the possibility to participate in other projects as interesting as the Multistrada 60,000 km European Tour.
