1.980 kmDay 1: Let’s start
Despite the modest weather, the ride with the Multistrada V4 Rally made it more and more fun. Most of all, I was fascinated by the ease with which I could ride such a heavy motorcycle.
Day 2: On the beach
On the second day, the trip started with a very grey sky and there were about 10 degrees towards Croatia. After a short ride from Austria, I quickly reached Slovenia and I went over the main road and many local areas towards Croatia. It got a little warmer but the sky remained very cloudy. This didn‘t absolutely compromise the pleasure of driving; the powerful engine, the well-controlled brakes and the comfortable sitting position contributed for the rest. After about 350 km, I reached the sea and the coastal road in Bakarac, where the sun also met me at 22 degrees. I went to Sveti Juraj and, since I didn’t get a room there, I went back to Senj where the Rally was parked next to some other Austrian motorcycles. The first 500 km were done.
Day 3: Magistral
The third day led me over the Croatian coastal road via Karlobag to Split where I was supposed to pass the next overnight but, as it was only shortly afternoon, I rearranged my plans. Next destination: Dubrovnik! I had a lot of fun riding the Multistrada V4 Rally on the coast road. When arrived in Dubrovnik, I could not believe that I had already almost completed 500 km.
Day 4: Croatian hinterland
The weather was at its best on the fourth day, with bright sunshine and a temperature of 22 to 24 degrees. Then over the Croatian hinterland on hardly used, sometimes quite narrow, roads, I finally reached the Krka waterfalls to Zadar. Even in these road conditions, the Multistrada V4 Rally had me totally convinced, especially on the narrow, curvy tracks.
Day 5: Home
On the fifth day, I went from Zadar via some winding mountain roads to Plitvice. Further on beautiful mountain roads, where the Multistrada V4 Rally feels at home, she can show us what she can do. Unfortunately, I had to change my plans and take the direct way back home by highway via Zagreb. On the highway, I could see how well the distance radar and blind spot detection works. Until now, I was not even aware that I had always missed riding a motorcycle.
Day 6: Return back
On the last day, there was only one thing to do, and that was to give back this great bike. This step was not so easy, after almost 2.000 km. After a few talks with the Ducati dealer, I unfortunately went home without the Multistrada V4 Rally.
I had the chance to ride a Ducati Multistrada V4 Rally for a week. The ease and joy of riding this motorcycle are simply indescribable. The powerful engine, combined with excellent brakes, a chassis that has no equal, and the comfortable riding position, make this bike the perfect touring machine. This week was a fitting conclusion to the 2024 motorcycle season.
After 6 days with the Multistrada V4 Rally, I can only say that this bike is perfect for travelling. The combination between the engine and the technology creates a unique driving experience. The Rally has been extraordinary in every situation, and it was just fun! The engine convinces with its smooth running, both in the city and also in faster driven curves. The operation via the TFT display and joystick is very intuitive. Ducati has built a very balanced and convincing motorcycle for me.
After this week it was clear that my Multistrada V2S has to give way to a V4S. Luckily my dealer had a very good used white V4S. Now, I also belong to the circle of V4 riders. I am looking forward to the next season.
