The story

Participating in this relay was a fantastic experience for me. For years, as a motorcyclist, I have been closely associated with the Ducati brand, and I have particularly grown fond of the Multistrada model. So far, I have been driving the Pikes Peak versions, so the opportunity to test the Rally version in real conditions filled me with enthusiasm.
I picked up the motorcycle from the Ducati showroom in Katowice. What a fantastic team! Wojtek gave me a short, but very factual instruction on how to use the electronics, helping me set the machine to my preferences. The first stage of the ride involved highways and main roads through Poland, the Czech Republic, and Austria. Even at high speeds, the motorcycle behaved very stable. The large capacity of the fuel tank allows for long distances without the need to stop, so after a few hours I was already in Slovenia. And it was at this stage that the real adventure began!
The first winding route led along the Drava River valley surrounded by mountainous landscape, then a quick hop across the border, passing several mountainous curves on the Austrian side to finally end the day in the Slovenian mountains. Mountain trails accompanied me for the next few days, mostly surrounded by beautiful, lusciously green nature of Triglav Park. A paradise for motorcyclists and nature lovers alike!! It was great fun! The Multistrada’s wheels encountered a variety of surfaces-excellent quality asphalt, dilapidated roads, gravel roads, and sections with freshly laid asphalt, which was particularly slippery in the rain. Long, fast curves, tight turns, steep serpentines. I also experienced every type of weather: mountain cold, southern heat, rain, and fog. And through all these conditions, there was just one motorcycle! The Multistrada performed brilliantly in every scenario. You have to realize that a motorcycle of this class, with a large engine, a full fuel tank, and loaded with three trunks, has substantial weight. However, once we set off, this mass becomes irrelevant. I was amazed at how the fully loaded machine obeyed my every command without hesitation! No unpredictable behavior, excellent handling, full stability, easy maneuverability, and great wheel feedback. The engine revved smoothly from low rpm without protest or hesitation and revealed its true power at higher revs.
During the trip, I had the chance to test all the driving modes, given the varying road and weather conditions. Urban mode provided control in rainy conditions, Enduro mode worked perfectly on gravel roads, Touring mode made for a comfortable ride, and Sport mode delivered the most adrenaline! Each mode also offers the possibility of individually adjusting numerous parameters of the motorcycle.

My fondest memories are from the roads of Triglav Park, where, surrounded by stunning mountainous landscapes, rushing streams, and crystal-clear lakes, the Multistrada effortlessly navigated the turns, providing an exhilarating riding experience. Slovenia is a beautiful country, perfectly suited for exploration on a motorcycle like this. I will be happy to return there.

What is worth highlighting: excellent electronics that monitor many aspects of the motorcycle’s performance and help maintain constant control in all conditions. I haven’t come across more effective systems on any motorcycle! The suspension is excellent, and perfectly adapts to any surface. The quickshifter ensures smooth gear changes, and the suspension lowering system during braking helps maintain stability at a standstill, even with a fully loaded machine.
The Ducati Multistrada V4 Rally is, in my opinion, an outstanding motorcycle for long-distance expeditions. It is highly versatile, equipped with a fantastic engine, efficient suspension and excellent electronics. It efficiently and comfortably takes us to our destination while providing immense riding pleasure. This is the kind of motorcycle that I would choose for my future trips and wholeheartedly recommend to others.
